Samsung has revealed details of a new LCD the company has been working on, the Super PLS LCD display, which is designed to replace IPS displays.
According to Samsung, the new Super PLS technology provides a great viewing angle in LCD displays, and it seems the improvement is as much as 100 percent over IPS displays.
Of course, the technology is in the early stages at the moment, with Samsung announcing that they can currently produce displays up to a WXGA resolution (1366 x 768). However, Samsung has said that they will begin mass production of these new displays in early 2011.
Advantages of Super PLS Technology
Super PLS (Plane to Line Switching) technology is a significant advancement over the traditional IPS (In-Plane Switching) technology. One of the most notable benefits is the enhanced viewing angles.
