Samsung has filed various trademarks under the ‘Gear’ name over the last few months, one of those if for the Samsung Gear Live, which is expected to be a new smartwatch.
We recently heard that as well as the LG G Watch, and the Moto 360, we will see a new Samsung Android Wear smartwatch at the Google IO developer conference today, and it could end up being the Samsung Gear Live.
According to a recent report by ALT1040, the Samsung Gear Live will feature a 1.63 inch Super AMOLED display, and it will be powered by a 1.2GHz processor, possibly a Snapdragon 400.
The Samsung Gear Live is also rumored to come with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of included storage, the device will also come with a heart rate monitor, and a 300 mAh battery, plus Bluetooth 4.0.
According to the details revealed the Samsung Gear Live will come with an IP67 certification for dust and water proofing, the device will come with Google’s Android Wear OS.
The specifications on this new Gear Live smartwatch are very similar to the Samsung Gear 2, it is possible it could be the same device with Android Wear in tow.
It is not clear as yet on whether the Samsung Gear Live will look exactly like the Gear 2, or whether Samsung will give it a slight re-design for its Android Wear launch.
