Earlier we heard more details about the new Samsung Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9 Plus, the handsets are expected to go on sale on the 16th of March. Now we have some details on when the new Galaxy S9 smartphones will go up for pre-order.
According to a recent report, Samsung will start taking pre-orders on their Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus on the 2nd of March 2018. This date is apparently for South Korea but we presume it will be the same date for other countries as the handset will launch globally on the 16th of March.
We heard earlier today that Samsung will be introducing a new Intelligent Scan feature with the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus, this is a combination of an Iris scanner and facial recognition together. This should provide advanced security over standard facial recognition.
As well as the possible pre-order date, it looks like we may have some details on how much the handsets will cost. The Galaxy S9 is expected to start at 950,000 won for the 64GB model, this is around $890 at the current exchange rate.
Samsung will make their new Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus handsets official at Mobile World Congress. The company is holding their press event on the 25th of February 2018.
