Sony’s new Xperia Z5 smartphones uses the company’s new 23 megapixel Exmor RS sensor and now according to a recent report, Samsung wants to use the sensor in their next flagship.
Samsung are apparently in talks with Sony about them using the new 23 megapixel Sensor in the Samsung Galaxy S7 which will launch next year.
Samsung are expected to release two different versions of the Samsung Galaxy S7, one with a flat display like the S6 and one with a curved display like the S6 Edge.
There are also rumors that Samsung will use different processors by region and they are expected to release the device with an Exynos 8990 processor and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, there are also rumors of a third processor, the Exynos 7422 this handset will apparently launch in India.
Whether or not Samsung will be able to convince Sony to let them use their new 23 megapixel sensor in the Samsung Galaxy S7 remains to be seen, Sony was expected to keep this sensor exclusive to their Xperia Z5 smartphone, although allowing Samsung to use it could generate considerable revenue for its camera sensor unit.
