With Samsung’s MWC 2015 press conference scheduled for the 1st of March, we thought it was time for a roundup of the Samsung Galaxy S6 rumors.
Samsung are expected to launch two versions of the Samsung Galaxy S6 at this years mobile world congress, one will be a standard handset, the other will feature a curved display and is rumored to be called the Galaxy S6.
What hardware will the Galaxy S6 feature?
The Samsung Galaxy S6 is rumored to come with a number of high end specifications, which will include a 5.1 inch display with a Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels.
Other rumored specifications on the Galaxy S6 include a new eight core processor from Samsung, the Exynos 7420 which is said to be a 64-bit processor with impressive performance.
The Galaxy S6 is said to come with 3GB or RAM, there have been rumors of a 4GB version, although the device that recently turned up in the benchmarks appeared with 3GB of RAM.
Samsung’s new flagship Android device is said to feature a 20 megapixel camera with Optical Image Stabilization, there have also been rumors of a 16 megapixel camera. It is possible that the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge could come with different cameras.
Both devices are also rumored to come with a fingerprint scanner to unlock the handsets, Samsung are said to be using a new fingerprint sensor in their latest smartphone. The handsets are rumored to come with three storage options 32GB, 64GB and 128GB.
What design with the Galaxy S6 have?
Samsung are expected to go for a premium design for their new Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge handsets, the Galaxy S5 and previous models have featured a plastic casing, but Samsung are rumored to be improving both the design and also the look and feel of the device with high end materials.
The S6 is rumored to come with a metal frame, similar to the one used on the Samsung Galaxy Alpha, and the back of the handset is rumored to be made of either glass or metal. The handset will apparently launch in four different colors, white, gold, dark blue and a blue-green color, and the device is also expected to feature a slim and sleek design.
How much will the Galaxy S6 cost?
The latest rumors have suggested that the Galaxy S6 will retail for €749 for the entry level handset, this is the SIM free version of the device. The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is rumored to retail for €849, these prices have yet to be confirmed.
When will the Samsung Galaxy S6 be available?
The latest Samsung Galaxy S6 rumors suggest a launch date for the handset of some time around the end or March, although it is possible that the device could launch in early April. Samsung are expected to roll out the handset globally at the same time, so we can expect it to be available in a number of countries at launch.
