Mobile World Congress 2015 takes place between the 2nd and 5th of March and one device we are looking to see at the event is the new Samsung Galaxy S6 smartphone.
Samsung has now confirmed the date for its MWC 2015 press conference, it will take place on Sunday the 1st of March at 18.30 CET.
We are expecting to see two new smartphones at the event, the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge, which is said to feature a curved display like the Galaxy Note Edge.
Both handsets are expected to come with a 5.1 inch Quad HD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, and both devices are expected to be powered by Samsung’s new Exynos 7420 processor.
The Samsung Exynos 7420 processor is not official yet, although we have seen it appear in some benchmarks, it will be an eight core 64-bit processor which is expected to provide some impressive performance.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 is also expected to come with 3GB of RAM, there have been rumors of 4GB of RAM, although the benchmarks have shown a handset with 3GB, we can also expect a range of storage options which may go up to 128GB.
Samsung are giving the cameras an upgrade on their new Galaxy S6 smartphone, the rear camera is said to be a 20 megapixel version with Optical Image Stabilization and the front facing camera is said to be a 5 megapixel version.
The handset will come with a metal frame and possibly a glass back, Samsung are rumored to be ditching the plastic for a more premium design and materials.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 will come with the latest version of Google’s Mobile OS, Android 5.0 Lollipop, and the device is expected to hit the stores some time at the end of March or early April.
