Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S5 at the Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona. The company mentioned it will hit retail in 150 countries on April 11th, but it seems there are some markets which may get the handset a little earlier.
According to a new report, the Samsung Galaxy S5 is set to launch in Malaysia on March 27th on major carriers, including Maxis, Celcom and Digi. Maxis Malaysia has been teasing the handset from quite a while now, with Digi gettings its pre-registration page up for users interested in the handset. So, there’s a possibility it might arrive a little earlier.
There’s no information available if its the date when it will hit the retail shelves or the date when the three major Malaysian carriers will kick off with the pre-orders. In any case, now the folks in Malaysia have a date they can look forward too.
For those who needs a refresher, Samsung Galaxy S5 comes with a 5.1-inch display boasting a 1080p resolution, a quad-core Snapdragon 801 chipset with a clock speed of 2.5GHz and 2GB of RAM. You also get 16GB of storage with an option to expand it via a microSD card that supports up to 128GB, as well as an improved 16MP camera for photos and videos.
Other features include 2MP camera, a 2,800 mAh battery, WiFi, fingerprint sensor in the home button, heart rate monitor and runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat as its operating system.
So, who’s picking up a Samsung Galaxy S5 once it hits retail?
