Samsung Galaxy S5 launched with Android 4.4.2 KitKat as its operating system, but it seems the handset may get the latest Android 4.4.3 by the end of this month.
It’s not just the Samsung Galaxy S5, Galaxy S4 is also said to receive the latest update by the end of July. It’s the international unlocked LTE-enabled version of the Galaxy S4.
The folks at Android Geeks managed to get hold of a leaked Samsung document which lists the devices expected to get the latest Android 4.4.3 KitKat update. Included in the list is the Samsung Galaxy S5 with model numbers SM-G900H and SM-G900F — the status of both these handsets are listed as completed so the roll out may begin sooner than we expect.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 with model number GT-I9506 is also expected to get the update, and is under final testing. However, it won’t roll out for the handset until July, so Galaxy S4 users may have to wait for some time to get the update.
Android 4.4.3 KitKat is not a very big update, but consists of mostly bug fixes and enhancements, so don’t expect any big changes. They won’t be introduced until the next big version of the operating system, which may take place at Google I/O later this month.
