Samsung recently announced that they won’t be launching the new Samsung Galaxy S III at this year’s MWC 2012, which takes place in Barcelona later this month.
We know the company will be launching some other new smartphones, plus some new tablets, but now it would appear that they may launch updated versions of two existing devices.
According to a recent report from Ubergizmo, Samsung may be getting ready to launch a more powerful version of their Galaxy S II smartphone, which will be called the Galaxy S II Plus.
Galaxy S II Plus: What to Expect
The Galaxy S II Plus is rumored to come with Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread, a WVGA display, and a dual-core 1.5GHz processor. This would be a significant upgrade from the original Galaxy S II, which featured a 1.2GHz dual-core processor. The enhanced processing power is expected to improve the overall performance of the device, making it more efficient for multitasking and running demanding applications. Additionally, the Galaxy S II Plus is likely to retain the sleek design and Super AMOLED Plus display that made the original Galaxy S II popular among users.
The camera capabilities of the Galaxy S II Plus are also expected to see improvements. While the original Galaxy S II featured an 8-megapixel rear camera, the Plus version might come with enhanced camera software and possibly a higher resolution sensor. This would make it more competitive with other high-end smartphones on the market.
Galaxy Note Plus: Enhanced Features
In addition to the Galaxy S II Plus, it looks like Samsung may also launch a more powerful version of the Galaxy Note, which is rumored to be called the Galaxy Note Plus. The original Galaxy Note was a groundbreaking device that popularized the “phablet” category, combining the functionality of a smartphone with the larger screen size of a tablet. The Galaxy Note Plus is expected to build on this legacy with several key enhancements.
The Galaxy Note Plus is rumored to feature a larger and higher resolution display, possibly moving from the original 5.3-inch screen to a 5.5-inch or even 5.7-inch display. This would provide users with more screen real estate for productivity tasks, media consumption, and gaming. The device is also expected to come with an upgraded processor, potentially a quad-core chip, which would offer faster performance and better energy efficiency.
Another area where the Galaxy Note Plus is expected to shine is in its S Pen functionality. The original Galaxy Note introduced the S Pen stylus, which allowed for precise input and a range of creative and productivity features. The Note Plus is likely to come with an improved S Pen, offering better pressure sensitivity, more features, and enhanced software integration.
As soon as we get some more information on these two new rumored devices from Samsung, we will let you guys know. The anticipation for these upgraded models is high, and they could set new benchmarks in their respective categories.
