With dimensions of 14.96″x5.31″x1.41″ and officially dubbed the KYBX-400, this sleek new stainless steel keyboard from Stealth calls out to the military enthusiast inside you.
While you can’t launch missiles with it, it does lend a sense of real hardware to the command center aesthete you might be going for in your computing. More than just looking nice however, sheer ruggednes is at the core of the KYBX. Just try this bit from the promotional literature:
“The rugged keyboard is housed in a rugged vandal resistant stainless steel enclosure and will stand up to harsh, wet and dirty environments.”
That sounds pretty tough. In case you still aren’t sold on its water and weather–proof virtues let’s have a go at the additional specs. Environmentally sealed NEMA 4, 4X, IP 65; the individual keys have red backlighting that lend an atmosphere similar to the confines of a dimly lit nuclear submarine; there’s a built-in 800DPI sealed optical trackball at the upper right side; don’t forget the laser etched keys and a 5.75′ USB cable.
If you’re keen on the $700 retail price (yikes!), head over to the official Stealth site for purchase details.
