A new update from Roku has brought with it an early holiday gift to older XR users, transforming their systems from 720p to 1080p.
The new firmware update from Roku 2.9-b1509, brings the extra pixels and fixes a few more problems including: optimisation from the Hulu application to allow for quicker trick play navigation and start of playback and improved playback performance on networks with higher latencies.
Your Roku box will automatically download the update over the next few days but if you just cant wait, to download the firmware update manually follow these instructions:
Select the “Settings” option from the homepage, then navigate to “Player Info” and finally choose “Check For Updates”. Your box will then prompt you with the latest version install.
