If you are looking to build your very own 3D printer, you might be interested in the affordable RepRapPro Ormerod 3D Printer Kit which is now available to purchase from RS components in the UK for £500.
The RepRapPro Ormerod 3D Printer Kit has been designed to be one of the most versatile 3D printers available and offers easy assembly and expansion, building on the technology RepRapPro has used on its other 3D printers.
The Ormerod 3D Printer Kit is equipped with the new 32-bit Arduino-compatible Duet electronics enable control via a web-browser as well as fully open-source self-replicating RepRap and a wiring loom for simple plug-in connection with no soldering required.
“The Ormerod uses a process known a fused filament fabrication, which it employs to build 3-dimensional objects in a range of plastics and in a variety of colours. This process enables the user to create almost any shape which can be modelled on a computer, including some which could not be produced by traditional manufacturing techniques at all.
The RepRapPro Ormerod is a monochrome 3D printer configured to work with one type of plastic at a time. However, the RepRapPro Ormerod head is fundamentally designed to work with three deposition heads and an upgrade kit will be available soon for this machine.”
The new Ormerod 3D printing kit from RepRapPro has a range of printer filaments in 8 different colours available to use with it on 100m reels for £30. For more information on the new Ormerod 3D Printer Kit jump over to the website for details.
