A week after releasing their iOS application Readability have today rolled out their new Android Readability application which is now available exclusively on the Amazon Android App Store in the US.
If you have never used the Readability service before, it basically turns any Web page into a clean view for reading now or later on your computer or Android device.
Using the new Readability Android app, together with the free Readability add-on for your Web browser, it allows you to save interesting articles to read at a later date directly from your Android Mobile or tablet device. Readability explains:
“Make it a favorite, send to your archive, share with your friends, and more Readability automatically turns Web pages into a clean, elegant, single-column reading view. With beautiful typography provided by Hoefler & Frere-Jones, the reading experience in Readability is second-to-none. Too busy to read right now? Save any Web page to Readability and it automatically saves on your Web browser or Android device. Once synced, your articles will be there for you–whether you’re online or offline. Customize the reading view by adjusting type size, text style, and contrast to your liking.”
Outside the US the new Readability Android application will be available from Google Play and is available to download now for free. Not timescale has been revealed as to how long The Amazon App Store will have it exclusively in the US.
