Gamers looking to treat themselves this holiday season might be interested to know that Razer’s new Blade gaming laptop is approaching pre-order status, and deliveries will be made in time for the holidays, says Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan.
In an interview with gaming website Kotaku, CEO Min-Liang Tan explained a little behind how the design of their new gaming laptop came about.
“When I served in the army, I was sent for survival training in the dense jungles of the tropics. We carried only the most essential gear and one key item in my kit was my KA-BAR combat knife”
“It was simple, minimalist and utilitarian – and we used it for everything from hunting, to preparing food, cutting rope and building floats. Every night after setting up camp, I would spend my time sharpening it during watch. It was one of the finest knives I’ve ever used – clean, cold, supremely balanced and lethally sharp.”
Design Philosophy and Inspiration
The Razer Blade gaming laptop embodies the same principles that Tan admired in his KA-BAR knife: simplicity, minimalism, and utility. The laptop is designed to be sleek and portable, yet powerful enough to handle the most demanding games. The design team at Razer aimed to create a device that would not only perform exceptionally well but also look and feel premium. The laptop’s chassis is made from high-quality materials, ensuring durability and a premium feel.
The Blade’s minimalist design does not compromise on functionality. It features a full HD display, a high-performance GPU, and a responsive keyboard with customizable RGB lighting. These features make it an ideal choice for gamers who need a reliable and powerful machine that can also serve as a stylish accessory.
Performance and Features
Under the hood, the Razer Blade is packed with top-of-the-line hardware. It boasts an Intel Core i7 processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX graphics, and up to 16GB of RAM. This combination ensures that the laptop can handle the latest games at high settings without breaking a sweat. The Blade also includes a high-speed SSD, which significantly reduces load times and improves overall system responsiveness.
One of the standout features of the Razer Blade is its advanced cooling system. Gaming laptops are notorious for overheating, but Razer has implemented a sophisticated cooling solution that keeps the laptop running cool even during intense gaming sessions. This is achieved through a combination of vapor chamber cooling and strategically placed fans that efficiently dissipate heat.
Shipping has already started to selected gaming CEOs, and pre-orders are expected to start for the general public in a few days for around $2,800. This price point places the Razer Blade in the premium segment of the gaming laptop market, but its combination of performance, design, and features justifies the cost for serious gamers.
In addition to its gaming capabilities, the Razer Blade is also a versatile machine for other tasks. Its powerful hardware makes it suitable for video editing, 3D rendering, and other resource-intensive applications. The laptop’s portability and battery life also make it a great choice for professionals who need a powerful machine on the go.
