A new open source Raspberry Pi tablet is currently under development and could be launching before the end of this year. The aptly named CutiePi Raspberry Pi tablet is equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen and is powered by a Raspberry Pi Compute Module 3 Lite, fitted to a custom carrier board.
The Raspberry Pi tablet will run the Linux-based Raspbian operating system and will include a touch-friendly user interface called Qt. The IPS LCD MIPI DSI touchscreen display will provide users with a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution and the tablet is fitted with a 4,800 mAh battery, a USB-A port, a microSD card reader, and 6 GPIO pins.
