Velvetwire have created a new device called the Powerslayer which has been design dot help reduce the amount of unnecessary power used by USB chargers and has been created by Jennifer Lee and Eric Bodnar.
The Powerslayer hopes to provide us with a chance for a smarter energy future, one device at a time and provides a more cost effective and efficient way to charge a mobile device, eliminate energy waste and improve lifetime battery performance. Watch the video after the jump to learn more about the Powerslayer project and see it in action.
“Standard USB chargers recharge our devices, and frankly, that’s about it. Unimaginative, boring – and wasteful. And when they’re finished charging, they continue drawing power. Power that’s wasted. Multiply that by a billion devices, and you can see the problem. Powerslayer is a new kind of charger. Savvy. Responsible. Convenient. Elegant. And very, very intelligent.
When it comes to designing energy efficient products, we believe conscious living shouldn’t come at the expense of convenience. That’s why each of our products is designed to reduce our impact without impacting our lifestyle. It’s intelligent technology made simple. And it’s built with a commitment to craftsmanship found only in America.”
The Powerslayer project is currently over on the Kickstarter website looking to raise enough pledges to make the jump from concept to production.
