DJs and musicians are simply bonkers over percussion. Without percussion, modern pop tunes would be hard pressed delivering those all important hooks. Small wonder then that Korg have just flaunted their latest percussion synthesizer, the Wavedrum Mini.
The Wavedrum Mini is a percussion gadget with more than 100 pre-recorded compositions saved into it. If you’re wondering what’s up with the picture above, the Wavedrum Mini can also deliver sound via it’s speaker system through a clip sensor. The clip sensor can be attached to any surface, turning it into a percussion instrument. So next time you’re banging on pots and pans, the Wavedrum Mini should prove useful.
The Wavedrum is powered by battery or through a connector. Playtime can reach four hours, which is more than enough for an average 1:30 gig. There are also built-in effects and synth features. Aside from the pre-recorded compositions, there are a hundred different beats to choose from.
Despite having been unveiled, the Wavedrum Mini doesn’t have an official release date and price yet.
