While a quick glance at the accompanying pic may suggest a worrying case of fanboy obsession, the Australian teenager named Mark M. responsible for this neat piece of furniture does deserve admiration—ours and yours.
He may not be the first to indulge his Playstation reverence by turning the iconic console’s controller into a table, but it does stand proud as a finely executed piece of design and taste. Just look at it, so simple yet so profound.
All right, so maybe we’re seeing things that aren’t even there. But what can’t be questioned is the workmanship involved here; Mark allegedly spent 20 weeks worth of off hours crafting his masterpiece using MDF, plywood and veneer.
For a school project, this work is ace. Unless, of course, his classmates built robots and Mark just took the easy way out with furniture.
Still, for sheer inventiveness alone this deserves high marks. If Mark ever decides to become a full-fledged designer, he’s got our blessing. Not that he asked for it, but the boy needs encouragement to keep him on track.
