Yesterday we told you about Pioneer’s new WWS-DT101 Discussion Table, which is a multitouch table similar to the Microsoft Surface, and it looks like it is going to cost a whopping $37,000.
The new Pioneer Discussion table features a 52 inch multitouch display, and you can manipulate documents with the touch of a finger and share data to anyone either wirelessly using TransferJet technology or to any network connected devices like a computer or smartphones and tablets, have a look at the video of it in action below.
Advanced Features and Capabilities
The Pioneer WWS-DT101 Discussion Table is not just a simple multitouch table; it is packed with advanced features that make it a powerful tool for collaborative work environments. The 52-inch display offers a high-resolution interface that can support multiple users interacting simultaneously. This makes it ideal for business meetings, educational settings, and creative brainstorming sessions.
One of the standout features is its ability to connect wirelessly using TransferJet technology. This allows for the seamless transfer of data between the table and other devices such as laptops, smartphones, and tablets. Imagine being able to instantly share a presentation from your phone to the table with just a tap. This level of connectivity can significantly enhance productivity and streamline workflows.
Comparing to Microsoft Surface
While the Microsoft Surface has been a popular choice for multitouch tables, the Pioneer WWS-DT101 Discussion Table offers several advantages that justify its higher price point. The Microsoft Surface, which retails for $7,600, is a versatile device but lacks some of the advanced features found in the Pioneer model. For instance, the Surface’s display is smaller, and it does not support TransferJet technology, limiting its connectivity options.
Moreover, the Pioneer table’s robust build quality and larger display make it more suitable for environments where multiple users need to interact with the device simultaneously. This makes it a better fit for corporate boardrooms, design studios, and educational institutions where collaboration is key.
The Pioner WWS-DT101 Discussion Table will retail for $37,000, which is five times as much as the Microsoft Surface which retails for $7,600.
