Emojis are a great way to express how you’re feeling. If you’re a Pebble user, you probably know that the smartwatch doesn’t support emojis, but it seems things are about to change.
Pebble is releasing a new firmware update which brings a handful of new features to the smartwatch, allowing users to make the most of their smartwatches.
The latest update adds support for popular emojis, allowing users to see them on their Pebble screen. Along with the emoji support, the latest update also brings iOS 8 compatibility. With the new update, users will be able to dismiss notifications from Pebble smartwatch, which will also clear them from the Notifications Center on devices running iOS 8 as their operating system.
The new update also gives developers the ability to use the magnetometer in the smartphone so they can introduce compass and wayfinding apps for the smartwatch.
Here’s the complete change log:
- Added support for popular emojis, with more to come!
- Added magnetometer support, enabling compass and wayfinding apps.
- Added iOS 8 compatibility: dismissing notifications from Pebble now clears them from Notification Center on devices running iOS 8.
- Bug fixes and stability improvements.
To get the update, launch the Pebble app on your iOS or Android handset, and go to Support » Update Your Pebble. This will help you manually update your watch to the latest firmware.
