Funding for the Pebble smartwatch has closed early on Kickstarter, eight days before the project was due to close. With the company behind the project raising over $10 million in funding and selling its 85,000 allocation of Pebble watches.
As interested started to escalate on Kickstarter breaking all records, the company put a limited of 85,000 watches would be made in the Kickstarter production run. So if you have been waiting and pondering whether to purchase and pledge for a Pebble Smart Watch, unfortunately that time has now passed and the Kickstarter event is now closed.
You can still make pledges however if desired but you won’t receive a famed Pebble Watch from Kickstarter. They will however be made available at a later date for $150 each, once the 85,000 Kickstarter orders have been fulfilled in September.
It was also announced this week that the new Pebble smart watch would be a receiving Bluetooth 4.0 support via a software update after production is complete.
