Voice Recognition software company, Nuance, who developed Apple’s Siri is working on some new voice recognition software, that is designed to work even when your smartphone is in sleep mode.
Nuance’s Chief Technology Office, Vlad Sejnoha, has said that Nuance are working with a number of ‘chip’ manufacturers on developing a new type of voice recognition that will work when you device is in sleep mode, and it will be designed to be pow powered.
This certainly sounds like an interesting technology, one that would be able to work out the difference between background noise and your voice whilst the device is in sleep mode.
It will be interesting to see what the technology is like, and we suspect that voice recognition technology will be greatly improved over the coming years.
