The folks at Sandisk announced a new 128GB microSDXC card at the Mobile World Congress 2014, but many were left wondering if it will work with other devices in the market.
The card does work with a number of devices that saw the daylight on MWC 2014, but what about the older ones that were approved for 64GB of memory card? Well, a user at WPCentral forums managed to snag a 128GB Sandisk microSDXC card, and surprisingly, it worked with the Nokia Lumia 1520.
The 128GB Sandisk microSDXC card is available from Amazon for $119.99, but the shipping times are quite lengthy, at least for now with the product listing showing a shipping date in 4-6 weeks.
As far as the performance is concerned, the WPCentral forum user NoRoomBasic mentions that its 20 percent faster than the 64GB microSDXC card, and it did manage to record videos at 720p resolution without any problem or hiccups of any sort.
This does come as a good news for storage hungry users who are rocking a Nokia Lumia 1520. There’s no word about other Windows Phone devices, but I guess we’ll find out about them once the availability of the Sandisk 128GB microSDXC card settles down.
Microsoft is also expected to unveil Windows Phone 8.1 at Build 2014 next month, which will bring support for high storage memory cards.
