DOOM fans playing on their Nintendo Switch may be interested to know that a new DOOM patch version 1.1.1 has been released overnight, adding the ability for DOOM to discover motion controllers and for players add them as a control option. The new feature has been quietly rolled out by Bethesda but was spotted by Twitter user “names2hard4you”.
The option to use the motion controllers on the Nintendo Switch to play DOOM has been requested for some time by the community, and it now seems that Bethesda have listened to feedback enabling the requested feature. Once you installed the DOOM patch version 1.1.1 you will be given the opportunity to invert motion controls and adjust sensitivity from the game’s controller menu. Check out the YouTube video below for a quick overview of what you can expect from the new update and DOOM controller options on the Nintendo Switch. Jahranimo YouTube user comments :
“I’d like to add: The gyro/motion controls work pretty darn well in handheld mode too. Split joycon work as well, the gyro is in the right joycon and is even more sensitive than using the pro controller or the joycon grip. Visuals do also seem to look a tad improved, just not 100% sure what all they did. As of this post we don’t have the official patch notes yet.”
Download the DOOM patch now onto your Nintendo Switch and enjoy the new motion control options available to enhance the game even further.
