We had previously thought that the new iPad Pro tablets would be launching before the end of 2019, the last ones launched in October 2018 so we were expecting new ones this year.
Now it looks like we will not see these new high end iPads until early next year, the news comes from Apple’s recent earnings call.
Apple’s CFO Luca Maestri gave a clue to this in the recent earnings call, he said that the company’s revenue guidance for the holiday quarter takes into account that the iPad Pro will have a different launch time on a year over years basis.
The holiday quarter is the last quarter of the year from September to the end Of December, so this is a good clue that we will not see the new iPad Pro before the end of 2019. We had previously heard a number of rumors that the new iPad Pro would be launching in October.
The new high end iPads are expected to get a number of upgrades over the current versions, this will include new cameras and there are rumors that they will have the same three cameras as the iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max.
