Wasting no time after its announcement, Apple has today made available its new Apple TV operating system which takes the form of tvOS, the new Apple TV Human Interface framework.
The latest Apple TV hardware incorporates a number of new features including the addition of support for tvOS applications that can now be created and published to the Apple apps online store.
Apple has today published new guidelines, specifications and templates to help developers get up to speed with the new tvOS allowing them to convert already existing applications as well as create brand-new environments for the new Apple TV and larger screen environments to “redefine the living room experience”. Learn how to use the same frameworks, technologies, and concepts used for iOS development to create tvOS apps. You can use Metal, UIKit, SpriteKit, On Demand Resources, and Game Center to create rich games and apps that look amazing on the new Apple TV.
Apple TV brings the touch experience to the TV through the revolutionary Siri Remote, enabling users to interact with content across the room through fluid, intuitive gestures. With a touch surface that operates like a familiar trackpad, the new remote lets you tap, swipe, and click. Leverage touch in a way that connects people with your content in a delightful and engaging manner.
