Microsoft has been charging developers for updates to games to Xbox Arcade, although it would appear that this is now a thing of the past and it would appear that Microsoft stopped charging developers for updates back in April.
“Microsoft eliminated fees for Title Updates on Xbox 360 Arcade games in April 2013,” the spokesperson wrote. “We’re constantly evaluating our policies and implementing feedback. While our development policies are confidential, and will remain so, we’re pleased to say that this is just one of many ongoing changes and improvements we’ve made to ensure Xbox is the best place possible for developers and gamers.”
This is good new for developers, as the fees for updating games were reported to be quite high. This should mean that developers will push out updates quicker, which is great news for gamers.
