Microsoft’s next version of their PC operating system, Windows 8 will launch later this month, and Microsoft are obviously hoping to convince existing Windows users as well as other computer users to switch to their new operating system.
Microsoft has a big marketing campaign planned to promote Windows 8, and according to various reports, Microsoft are looking to spend more than $1 billion on promoting Windows 8.
Windows 8 will launch on the 26th of October, and as well as the launch of the operating system, a number of manufacturers will be launching Windows 8 based computers and tablets.
Microsoft will also be launching their own Windows 8 based tablet at the same time, the Microsoft Surface, and we suspect they will be spending quite a bit of their large marketing budget promoting the surface.
