The new desktop version of Skype is now available, Microsoft has released the software for multiple platforms. Skype for desktop gets the same design as the mobile version of Skype and it comes with a range of different features.
You can now customize your theme on the latest version of Skype and change the color of the display. There is now a new chat list which allows you to organize chats by time, status or unread. Microsoft has said that it is now easier to share files on Skype as the software is now cloud based. You cna now share a file up to 300MB in size.
As with previous versions of Skype, the new Skype also works across multiple devices and shows your you messages on your smartphone, tablet, the Xbox and more. There is also an updated notification panel, a chat media gallery where you can see media and files that have been shared with you and more.
The new version of Skype for Desktop is now available to download for the Mac, Windows and Linux. The update is apparently being pushed out soon, although it is now available as a manual download and you can find out more information on this at the link below.
