Chromebook users missing the ability to use Microsoft Office applications, will be pleased to know that from this week onwards the Microsoft Office suite of apps is now available to download onto your Chromebook directly from the Google Play store. Microsoft has not made any official announcement but the Chrome Unboxed website has tested the Microsoft Office application on the Samsung Chromebook Pro, Pixelbook, two different models of the Acer Chromebook 15 and the Acer C771, all of which allow access from the Google Store and installation of the Office suite on Chrome OS.
This is fantastic news for those who rely on Microsoft Office for work, education or even just home use, and is sure to help those that have been considering a Chromebook purchase but have been put off by the lack of Microsoft Office Suite applications, make a final decision.
