Earlier this month, the Chinese manufacturer Meizu announced it will enter the US market next year and will showcase some of its products at the Consumer Electronics Show next month in Las Vegas.
According to a new rumor, Meizu is working on two configurations of its upcoming Meizu MX4 or MX4G. One will be the high-end version with a massive 2K resolution while other will be a trimmed down version with 1080p display.
Meizu’s Jack Wong has been speaking about the handset on Meizu forums, and judging from the discussion, it’s safe to assume that it might come in two versions. The high-end Pro version will feature a 5.5 inch display sporting a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, while the lower model will feature a 5-inch display boasting a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Rumors suggest that the economical version will come with the MediaTek processor with LTE 4G onboard.
There’s also a rumor that the Pro version will come with LTE support, but we don’t have any clue which processor will be used in it by the Chinese OEM. There are a few possibilities as Qualcomm announced its Snapdragon 805, which has yet to make an official appearance on any handset.
I think we should just take this rumor with a pinch of salt and wait for CES 2014. There are chances that Meizu might showcase it at the show. We’ll update you if any other information comes up.
