If you are not quite sold on the whole 3D thing at the moment with the need to wear glasses and all that. Feast your eyes on this massive 200 inch 3D display prototype created by the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology’s (NICT) that you can view without the need to wear any specialised viewing glasses.
The 200-inch glasses-free display has been designed and created by NICT to try and fix the three major issues plaguing 3D: stripe noise, reduction in 3D resolution and unnatural images due to the observer’s movement, together with dropping the need to wear those lovely glasses we will all miss.
NICT has been able to accomplish the 3D display by using a combination of LED light sources, special diffuser film and a condenser lens that together reduces the stripe noise and resolution degradation.
As you can imagine the huge display is still under development at the moment, but the quicker this sort of 3D display can come to market the better. Both to save the 3D industry and make it much more pleasurable for viewers.
