Those of you that have been patiently waiting for Makerbot to start shipping their new MakerBot Replicator Desktop 3D printers will be pleased to learn that the company has today announced shipping has commenced, and you should soon start receiving your new Makerbot Desktop 3D printer very soon if you placed a pre-order.
Makerbot also today announced the launch of a new MakerBot Desktop software that offers users a free 3D printing solution for creating, discovering, managing, and sharing your 3D prints, with MakerBot MakerWare software built-in.
Makerbot explains : “This week, the first MakerBot Replicator Desktop 3D Printers are starting to ship. Over the coming weeks, eager engineers, designers, researchers, and people who just like to make things will get to experience the reliability, quality, and connectivity of the MakerBot Replicator firsthand. We can’t wait to see what you make!”
Makerbot also today announced that their much larger MakerBot Replicator Z18 3D printer (pictured below) is now available to purchase for $6,499. The MakerBot Replicator Z18 offers a huge build area volume measuring 12 x 12 x 18 inches or 2,592 cubic inches in size.
