The LG G3 is one of the first smartphones to launch with a Quad HD display, the handset comes with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, and you would expect this display to have an impact on the devices battery life.
It looks like LG focused on delivering battery performance when they designed the new LG G3, the handset was recently put up against the Samsung Galaxy S5, the Sony Xperia Z1, the HTC One M8, and the iPhone 5S, read on after the break for more details on how it performed, when compared to its competitors.
The guys over at Phone Arena ran some battery tests on the new LG G3, and it turns out the the handset beat all of the competition. In their tests the LG G3 battery lasted for 8 hours and 50 minutes, the next best handset was the Galaxy S5 which lasted for 8 hours and 20 minutes.
They also tested the charging time on the new LG G3 when compared to other devices, and it came out on top with a total charge time of 120 minutes, which is closely followed by the Galaxy S5.
This is pretty impressive considering that the device features the new high end QHD display, the handset comes with a 3,000 mAh battery out of the box, this is user replace.
We recently heard that LG had strong sales of the new G3 in their first 5 days, the handset is rumored to have beaten the Galaxy S5 in South Korea.
It will be interesting to see how popular the G3 becomes for LG, we suspect that this will end up being their most popular Android device to date.
