Lenovo has added a new PC to their range with the launch of the Lenovo ‘fit anywhere’ Q700 HTPC.
The Lenovo Q700 HTPC looks about the same size as a Nettop PC, but comes with similar hardware specifications to a full-sized HTPC.
Specification include an Intel Pentium Dual Core E5200 processor, 4GB of RAM, a DVD burner, 640GB hard drive, and integrated X4500 graphics.
Advanced Features and Connectivity
The Lenovo Q700 HTPC also comes with a built-in TV tuner, which allows users to watch and record live television directly on their PC. This feature is particularly useful for those who want to consolidate their entertainment systems into a single device. Additionally, the Q700 includes HDMI out, making it easy to connect to modern HDTVs for a high-definition viewing experience. According to Lenovo, the Q700 is designed to be ultra-quiet, ensuring that it won’t disturb your viewing or listening experience.
Another notable feature is the integrated X4500 graphics, which, while not the most powerful on the market, are more than sufficient for everyday tasks and media consumption. The 640GB hard drive provides ample storage for movies, music, and other media files, making it a versatile addition to any home entertainment setup.
Practical Applications and Use Cases
The Lenovo Q700 HTPC is ideal for a variety of applications. For instance, it can serve as a media center in your living room, allowing you to stream movies, play music, and even browse the internet on your TV. Its compact size means it can fit into tight spaces, making it a great option for small apartments or dorm rooms.
Moreover, the Q700 can be used as a secondary PC in your home office or bedroom. Its quiet operation ensures that it won’t be a distraction, and its robust specifications make it capable of handling everyday computing tasks such as web browsing, document editing, and light gaming.
For those who are environmentally conscious, the Q700’s energy-efficient design is a significant plus. It consumes less power than a traditional desktop PC, which can help reduce your electricity bill and your carbon footprint.
The Lenovo ‘fit anywhere’ Q700 HTPC is available now for around $499 from Lenovo.
