Apple has been in the news a lot recently for slowing down older iPhones which had a degraded battery and now Samsung has been asked by Italian authorities if it is slowing down any of its older devices.
An Italian watchdog has asked Samsung if it is slowing down its handsets, Samsung previously said that it does not slow down its devices. You can see a statement from the company below that was issued last week.
“Samsung does not provide the software updates to reduce the product performance over the life cycle of the device. We will fully cooperate with Italian Authority for Market and Competition’s investigation in Italy to clarify the facts.”
So there we have it, Samsung has confirmed that they have not slowed down any of their devices. Apple has come under a lot of criticism and is facing a number of lawsuits for slowing down iPhones that featured a degraded battery.
