Yesterday we saw some leaked press renders of the new Huawei Mate 8 smartphone, the handset has now been officially unveiled in China.
The Huawei Mate 8 is equipped with a Full HD display that measures 6 inches and has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.
The handset is powered by a Kirin 950 octa core processor which is made up of four A72 cores clocked at 2.3GHz and four A53 cores clocked at 1.8GHz and it also comes with a Mali T880 MP4 GPU. The device will come with Huawei EMUI 4.0 which is baded on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and the device also comes with a 2.5D curved display.
Today in Shanghai, the Huawei Consumer Business Group (BG) unveiled the Huawei Mate 8, its most advanced flagship smartphone that combines beauty and practicality with a metallic, seamless design, 6-inch FHD screen and Huawei’s latest chipset architecture, the Kirin 950. As the latest innovation from Huawei’s Mate series, the Mate 8 features a customizable, next-generation Huawei EMUI 4.0 operating system based on Android M (6.0). Its body is made from aerospace-grade aluminum and unique 2.5D curved diamond cut glass, delivering an optimal design effect.
Those are the only specifications that have been announced for the handset so far, what we do know is that it will launch in three colors gold, copper and silver, the handset is now available in China and it will be headed to more countries early next year, the company will be showing off the device at CES 2016 in January.
