HTC has announced that owners of selected devices can now get 100GB of free Google Drive storage for two years. The list of devices include HTC One M8, HTC Desire 816, Desire 610, HTC One Remix and the oversized HTC One Max. Previously, the free storage space was limited to 50GB so it seems the company is doubling the amount of storage.
It’s surprising to see that HTC One Mini 2, and even the last year’s flagship device , the HTC One M7, is not in the list of devices. Even the recently launched HTC One E8 is not in the list which is more of a disappointment.
Customers in possession of the above-mentioned devices can redeem their free Google Drive storage space via the Google Drive app. Simply launch the app on your device, go to redeem from the options, and follow the on-screen instructions.
Don’t worry if you’re rocking any 2013 model as HTC mentioned users of 2013 HTC models, including HTC One, HTC Butterfly S, HTC One Mini and HTC Desire 601, can also redeem 25GB of free Google Drive storage for two years.
Usually, all Android users get 15GB of free storage, and it costs $1.99 per month if you want 100 GB. So technically, you’re saving a decent amount of money on the extra storage space.
