HTC are expected to make both of Google’s Nexus phones this year, the HTC Nexus Sailfish and Marlin, and the Sailfish has appeared on the AnTuTu benchmarks.
We previously heard some rumored specifications on the device, and the benchmarks have confirmed some of these.
Specifications and Features
The HTC Nexus Sailfish will come with a 5-inch display that will feature a Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1070 pixels. This resolution ensures that users will enjoy crisp and clear visuals, making it ideal for watching videos, browsing the web, and playing games. The handset will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, which is known for its high performance and efficiency. The Adreno 530 GPU will handle graphics processing, ensuring smooth and responsive gameplay and video playback.
Other specifications on the device will include 4GB of RAM, which will allow for seamless multitasking and smooth operation of multiple apps simultaneously. The 32GB of built-in storage will provide ample space for apps, photos, videos, and other media. However, it is not yet confirmed if the device will support expandable storage via a microSD card.
The HTC Nexus Sailfish will also come with high-end cameras on the front and back. The front camera will feature 8 megapixels, making it perfect for selfies and video calls. The rear camera will feature 13 megapixels, allowing users to capture high-quality photos and videos. The camera is expected to include features such as autofocus, LED flash, and possibly optical image stabilization, which will help in taking clear and stable shots even in low light conditions.
Software and Release Date
The device will come with the latest version of Google’s mobile OS, Android 7.0 Nougat. This new version of Android brings several improvements and new features, including enhanced notifications, improved multitasking with split-screen mode, and better battery management with Doze on the Go. Users can also expect regular updates and security patches directly from Google, ensuring that their device remains secure and up-to-date.
We are expecting Google to announce its two new Nexus smartphones sometime soon. The exact release date for the handsets has not been confirmed yet, but it is anticipated that the announcement will be made in the coming months. As soon as we get more details on the exact release date for the handsets, we will let you guys know.
In addition to the HTC Nexus Sailfish, the HTC Nexus Marlin is also expected to be released. The Marlin is rumored to have a larger display and possibly even more advanced features, catering to users who prefer larger devices. Both devices are expected to offer a pure Android experience, free from bloatware and unnecessary customizations, which is a hallmark of the Nexus line.
The collaboration between Google and HTC for these new Nexus devices is highly anticipated, as both companies have a history of producing high-quality smartphones. The Nexus line has always been popular among Android enthusiasts for its timely updates and stock Android experience, and the HTC Nexus Sailfish and Marlin are expected to continue this tradition.
