Following on from its unveiling during CES 2018, Hewlett-Packard has this week announced the arrival of its new HP Chromebox G2 mini PC that is capable of supporting an Intel Core i7-8650U processor, 16GB of RAM, and 64GB of solid-state storage. HP has now made available one mini PC in the range currently available to purchase for $689 and equipped with a Core i7 processor supported by 8GB of RAM, and equipped with 32GB of storage.
The mini PCs in the range which are not currently available include the entry-level Chromebox G2 mini PC equipped with a Celeron 3865U processor, 4GB of RAM and 32GB SATA SSD. If you need extra power and your budget will stretch a Core i7 version is available priced at $789, offering 16GB of RAM and a 64GB SATA SSD.
Other features include being preloaded with Google’s Chrome operating system and the ability to connect directly to the Google Play Store and run Android applications. Connectivity is provided by support for 802.11ac WiFi and Bluetooth 4.2. With ports taking the form of an HDMI port, SD card reader, 3 x USB 3.0 ports, 2 x USB 2.0 ports, and a USB Type-C port.
