The launch of the new Grand Theft Auto 5 game has been a storming success for Rockstar, who has this week announced that in just 6 weeks their new Grand Theft Auto 5 game has already sold more copies that the pervious GTA 4 game sold since it was launched.
Rockstar also revealed that their Grand Theft Auto 5 game has shipped more than 29 million copies since launch, which has now made Rockstar reevaluated its expectations for the fiscal year making them expect to pull in between $2.2-$2.3 billion in revenue.
The new GTA Online game has also proved to be a success, so much so that the games server had trouble coping wit the demand for the game and quickly buckled under the strain during its launch leaving many GTA Online gamers complaining that they couldn’t get on to the servers.
Rockstar has now rectified this now and is offering an in-game cash payout of $500,000 to players who login during October as an apology. Then cash payout or the GTA Online $500,000 Stimulus Package has been delayed slightly while Rockstar sort a few issues with the games economy and gameplay. Explaining:
“We hope to have an update for you on that very soon. As others have mentioned here, we of course want to make sure player progress loss issues are addressed before providing everyone with their GTA$500K. Thanks for your patience and please stay tuned.”
