Earlier today we heard that the Carrier IQ tracking software had been discovered in Apple’s iOS devices, although the software doesn’t seem to be as bad as the version found in some Android devices.
According to a recent report by the Verge, it would appear that Google’s range of Nexus smartphones don’t come with any of the carrier IQ software built in, and neither does the original Motorola Xoom tablet.
It isn’t clear as yet on why this software is installed on some Android devices, Apple’s iOS devices, and then not installed on others, and it could be possible that some mobile carriers have asked manufacturers to install the software.
