Google has announced that it is bringing a new feature to Google Project Fi that is designed to keep you monthly bills down. The company has now revealed that it will cap monthly bills at $80.
Google says that in the months that you use more than 6GB of data your bill be will capped at $80 but you will continue to have access to high speed data. The company says that this will work in a similar way to unlimited data plans.
The company also reveled that if you are a heavy user of data you will be able to use up to 15GB of data per month. After this you will experience slower data speeds once you have gone above this 15GB. Google has says that less than one percent of its users exceed the 15GB.
If you do not want to have slower speed for the rest of the month, then you can opt out of the slower speeds by paying $10 for each additional GB of data you use over the 15GB.
Google will not charge you for data that you have not used, so if you only use 1.4GB of data in a month, you will only pay $34 for that month. You can find out more details about the new Bill Protection feature on Google Project Fi at the link below.
