If you are looking for a little more external Thunderbolt storage you will be pleased to know that G-Technology has this week unveiled their new Thunderbolt Dual-Drive 8TB G-RAID HDD.
The Thunderbolt HDD demonstrated by G-Technology at this years IBC 2011 Conference in Amsterdam is equipped with two of the new 4TB Hitachi GST hard drives, and provides a great mobile solution for Mac users with its Thunderbolt connectivity.
The Thunderbolt support provides transfer speeds of up to 10 Gpbs with amazing sustained throughput for handling multi-stream compressed HD workflows including REDCODE, DVCPro HD, XDCAM HD and ProRes 422 says G-Technology.
G-Technology will begin shipping its 4TB-based G-RAID and single-drive G-DRIVE solutions with eSATA, FireWire 800 (FireWire 400 via cable) and USB 2.0 ports in October, with their Thunderbolt 4TB-based G-RAID and G-DRIVE solutions arriving in the fourth quarter of 2011. No details on pricing have yet been released.
