Foursquare the location-based social networking service which has been designed predominately for use on for mobile devices has this week launched their new Foursquare Windows 8 application, for users to enjoy on both Windows RT and Windows 8 devices.
The new Foursquare Windows 8 application has been designed to provide Windows 8 users with a more local discovery service rather than a checking in and meeting friends app.
The Foursquare Windows 8 app provides provides an interactive solution for users to find local events and places to eat near their location and was built using HTML5 and Javascript.
Features of the new Foursquare Windows 8 app include the ability to get instant suggestions when you open the app, even if you don’t have a Foursquare account, as well as the ability to see places that are currently trending, recently opened, or just best nearby, together with directions, hours, photos, and more.
The new Foursquare Windows 8 app is now available to download from the Windows App Store for free.
