Many of us use Google video YouTube site on a daily basis to view everything from movie trailer, gameplay specials, humorous stories or epic fails to name a few. But do you know how YouTube works and provides all the footage globally on demand?
If you have ever wondered how YouTube functions and would like to find out a new video has been published to YouTube surprisingly enough that explains the technology behind the giant media website revealing why buffing is something we will need to put up with for the foreseeable future.
“This was filmed at YouTube HQ in San Bruno. It was filmed before the much-discussed changes were made to YouTube comments section – we have not asked questions about that. The video below was created by Computerphile and was NOT made by YouTube or reflect the company’s official views. Staff were kind enough to answer some of our questions (well, most of them), but they did not edit the video or “approve” it – any mistakes in the editing or animations are most likely our own.”
Computerphile is also already working on a new video about the YouTube algorithm and how YouTube videos are recommended which will shed light on how those videos get to the top of the pile. As soon as more information comes to light we will keep you posted.
