Ford has gone official with the Ranger Raptor for Europe at Gamescom to show off the truck set to debut next year. The Euro Ranger Raptor has a twin turbo 2.0L diesel four making 210hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. That engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Ford fits the 10-speed with paddle shifters and drivers can override the auto with the paddles at any time. Like the big Raptor, the Ranger Raptor is tuned for off-road work with Fox shocks with Positive Sensitive Damping. BFG all-terrain tires and 17-inch wheels are standard.
Advanced Off-Road Capabilities
The Ranger Raptor is designed to tackle the toughest terrains with ease. The truck has six driving modes including normal, sport, grass/gravel/snow, mud/sand, rock, and Baja. These modes allow drivers to optimize the vehicle’s performance based on the specific conditions they are facing. For instance, the Baja mode is inspired by the Baja 1000 desert race and is designed for high-speed off-road performance. The mud/sand mode helps the truck maintain traction in loose, slippery conditions, while the rock mode is perfect for navigating rocky landscapes.
The truck also features Sync 3 infotainment and is Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatible. This ensures that drivers and passengers can stay connected and entertained, no matter where their adventures take them. The Sync 3 system includes voice-activated navigation, making it easier to find your way even in remote areas.
Distinctive Design and Features
The Ranger Raptor also gets unique bits on the outside to set it apart from normal Rangers, including a special grille, flared fenders, and oversized tires. These design elements not only enhance the truck’s rugged appearance but also contribute to its off-road capabilities. The flared fenders provide additional clearance for the oversized tires, which are essential for tackling rough terrain.
Inside, the Ranger Raptor offers a comfortable and functional cabin. The seats are designed to provide support during off-road driving, and the interior materials are chosen for their durability. The truck also includes a range of advanced safety features, such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and a rearview camera, to help keep drivers safe on and off the road.
The Ranger Raptor isn’t expected to come to the US, which is a disappointment for many American fans of the Raptor lineup. However, the truck is expected to be a hit in Europe, where it will offer a unique combination of performance, capability, and style.
In addition to its impressive performance and features, the Ranger Raptor also benefits from Ford’s extensive experience in building tough, reliable trucks. The company has a long history of producing vehicles that can handle the most demanding conditions, and the Ranger Raptor is no exception. Whether you’re navigating a rocky trail, crossing a sandy desert, or simply driving on a snowy road, the Ranger Raptor is designed to get you there and back safely.
Overall, the Ford Ranger Raptor is a highly capable and versatile truck that offers a unique blend of performance, technology, and style. With its advanced off-road capabilities, distinctive design, and range of features, it is sure to be a popular choice for drivers in Europe who need a vehicle that can handle a wide range of conditions. Whether you’re an off-road enthusiast, an adventure seeker, or simply someone who needs a reliable and capable truck, the Ranger Raptor is worth considering.
