Sony has this week announced new additions to its range of External Solid-State (SSD) offerings announcing new additions to the SL-E series range. Three different capacity models are available in the form of the 240GB for €169 or £149, 480GB for €289 or £249 and 960GB for €499 or £429 All of which are now available to purchase from May 2018 onwards.
Equipped with USB 3.1 Gen 2 connections the small external storage is capable of providing high-speed data transfer at a speeds of up to 540MB/s read or 520MB/s write. “The SL-E drive offers an excellent solution for digital photography professionals. The high capacity and ultra-fast connection to your PC, via the USB 3.1 Gen 2 interface, makes it the perfect partner for high-performance tethered shooting with cameras like the new Sony A7RIII. Reliable and durable, the “wave surface” design also ensures a sure grip and fingerprint resistance.”
Sony has also included 256-bit AES encryption allowing you to secure your data and documents with ease. Once activated, a password is required every time you would like to access the encrypted files. Finished in durable brushed aluminium the USB external storage drive is smaller than a credit card measuring just 80 mm x 47 mm and weighs just 50g.
