Anytime I hear the name Bowers & Wilkins it brings to mind good sound and a high price. The company is well known to produce high-end audio gear, but most of its products are considerably more than many consumers want to spend. B&W is a high-end brand aiming at the upper end of the market for affluent buyers.
The new Panorama 2 is the company’s latest sound bar and uses completely new Bowers & Wilkins engineered drive units to deliver enhanced acoustic performance. The sound bar also has new low range drivers for better bass. The sound bar has nine drivers within the single frame.
Five of the drivers are utilized in the active center speaker. Two of the center drivers are bass woofers, two are midrange drivers. The sound bar also has an aluminum dome tweeter in the center section. The other four drivers are located in their own enclosure to provide the rest of the sound. The sound bar is powered by six class D amplifiers with a total power output of 175 W. The sound bar launch in October in the UK with an MSRP of £1,650.
