Returning to Kickstarter for a third time, Double Tap Audio have launched a new Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign to raise the required funds needed to take their new R2 modular Bluetooth headphones into production. The modular design allows you to benefit from both wireless and wired modes. Watch the demonstration video below to learn more about the design, features and functionality of the R2 headphones.
“The Double Tap R2 is modular. Meaning, you can take parts of it off and add them to other parts. We made it so you can remove your earphones from the wired or wireless unit and connect them to whatever one you would like to use. This allows you to continue to use your headphones, even when you need to charge your Bluetooth module, after about 8-11 hours of use or 100 hours of standby time. All you need to do is detach your earphones from the Bluetooth module and snap them into the wired module. Your Bluetooth module takes 2 hours to charge completely.”
“Our product is hand made, using high quality materials, and our earphones are made from real .40 caliber, once fired, brass bullet casings. They have been cleaned, to remove any tracings of lead and other residues, and the primers have been replaced with strong neodymium magnets. You will have your choice from 3 different finishes; Raw Brass, Nickel Plated and Blue Green Patina Brass. Every earphone is sealed with a strong lacquer to protect your finish and keep your earphones looking good.”
The modular headphones are now available to back with early bird pledges available from $85 or roughly £66 with worldwide shipping expected to take place before the end of 2018. For more details and to make a pledge, jump over to the official Kickstarter campaign page by following the link below.
